The IMR Group, publishers of www.DomesticPreparedness.com, an online portal serving first responders and the homeland security sector, has announced a new “WebConference” series offering on-demand distance learning.
Each presentation is about a 15-minute PowerPoint™ with audio narration and will be archived on the Web site for a year. There is no charge to first responders who preregister.
“Bio-Agent Detectors” is the first in the series on Homeland Security topics for local first responders, state emergency management and Federal security agencies.
John F. Morton, director of conferences for King Communications, hosts the conference. Peter Estacio, Ph.D., of the Department of Homeland Security opens the discussion with an overview of the DHS roadmap for bio-detection. Technology presentations follow from Smiths Detection, Idaho Technology, GenPrime and Response Biomedical Corp. Peter Kant of Jefferson Consulting Group concludes with a discussion of acquisition strategies for bio-detectors – how procurement authorities can team with industry to get the funding to meet their bio-detection requirements.
The next in the series will be "Dealing With A Dirty Bomb," available in November 2004.
