VFIS Introduces Emergency Vehicle Rollover Prevention Training Package

VFIS introduced a training package today designed to help emergency service organizations avoid rollovers.

The training materials focus on Physical Dynamics of Vehicle Operations, the Mechanics of Vehicle Operations, Common Rollover Circumstances, and Best Practices for Maintaining Vehicle Control.

Driver error is the major contributing factor in nearly all emergency vehicle rollover crashes. According to the National Fire Protection Agency, 33 firefighters died in on-duty crashes in 2003. Of the crashes, 24 involved rollovers or collisions. The large number of vehicle-related deaths was the most in any year since 1977, when the NFPA began tracking the data.

The rollover training package includes a video, facilitator's guide, student handout and two safety posters, and is part of the VFIS Safety and Risk Management Video Series.

For more information or to order the “Emergency Vehicle Rollover Prevention Training Package,” call VFIS at 800-233-1957 or visit the VFIS online store at www.vfis.com.
