VOCS, TargetSafety to Provide Online Training Grants

A partnership between the International Association of Fire Chiefs' Volunteer and Combination Officers Section and TargetSafety, a private corporation providing online firefighter training, will be making available grants totaling $1 million to volunteer and combination departments in the United States.

According to a release from TargetSafety, departments that are awarded a grant will receive one year of TargetSafety services at no cost. Services are to include a customized training Web site and access to specific TargetSafety online training courses including NFPA firefighter courses, EMS continuing education, safety, human resource, hazmat and terrorism courses, as well as tools to track and manage training.

Applications are being accepted through Feb. 28, 2007. Applications may be submitted online at the TargetSafety Web site.
