In cooperation with the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute of the University of Maryland will host the National Fire Service Staff and Command Course in Memphis, Tenn., March 17- 24, 2004.

Staff and Command is a high intensity, concentrated program designed to involve the student in a variety of peer group activities. The successful completion of the course requires attendance at all sessions and student participation in all class activities. CEU’s are available to all students who successfully complete the program.

Topics for this year’s program include: Case Studies Workshop, Communication Skills, Customer Service, Disciplinary Action and Grievance Management, Organizational Survival, Recognizing the Signs of Stress, Terrorism and Our Response, Transformational Leadership, Interfacing with Elected Officials, Personnel Management and Investing in Our Future.
