FETN to Offer Free Training During Stand Down

In support of the National Firefighter Stand Down, the Fire and Emergency Training Network is providing free access to specific training programs directed toward firefighter safety. Beginning Wednesday June 21st through Sunday June 25th, firefighters can access the training free of charge, but will need to register to do so. Full details, including computer requirements can be found at the FETN Web site .

Training programs that will be able to be accessed will include:

  • The Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives
  • Firefighter Safety on the Roadway
  • Personnel Safety for ARFF Personnel
  • Calling the Mayday
  • Mayday Management

Each of the training programs will include a video instruction module, a lesson plan and courseware to facilitate instructor-led settings, a multiple-choice test for each module and a certificate of completion for those receiving passing scores of 70% or higher. Complete course lesson plans are available to review individually or as a group before during or at the conclusion of the training program.
