Salamander Technologies recently introduced an accountability app for Android devices.

The solution can store responder data — name, agency, rank, qualifications and more — as a 2D barcode on temporary paper tags, laminated tags or PVC cards. Data also can be programmed into reusable RFID cards.

Incident commanders can collect data through the app to verify a person's identity, and track all personnel at the site. Once the data is collected, incident commanders have instant access to responder qualifications, assignments and arrival times, departure times, and most recent status checks.
