FDNY Gives Purvis $2.3M

The New York City Fire Department awarded Purvis Systems a $2.3 million contract to modernize its emergency reporting system/electro mechanical alarm display systems, or ERS/EMADS.

Some of the city's fire/police pull boxes were implemented more than 30 years ago. They are located throughout the city and provide a direct connection between a fire and police departments' dispatcher and the reporting party. Purvis will use digital-design technology to upgrade the city’s older call box electronics, strengthening the system’s connection to the city’s network infrastructure without replacing the existing call box enclosures.

Purvis proposed a box-modernization plan that will be backward compatible with the current box structure, including redundant modular components to minimize box downtime and will decrease repair time.
