HSC Recognizes Fire Safety Products

Four companies manufacturing fire safety products have received Commendation Awards from the Home Safety Council for their efforts to advance consumer safety in and around the home. The awards, presented recently at the second annual Salute to Home Safety awards dinner in Washington, D.C., are given to companies in industries ranging from home improvement to interior decor in recognition of outstanding contributions to home safety.

The Kidde company received its award for its wireless smoke alarm system that uses radio frequency signals to link detection devices. Pioneering Technology Inc. was cited for its Safe-T-Element cooking system that helps prevent stovetop cooking fires while reducing the amount of electricity required to cook.

PEARL Protected received an award for its Permanent Escape and Rescue Ladder product. The Maxitrol Co. was recognized for its Plug1 gas appliance connector that allows the quick and safe connection and disconnection of gas-fired appliances.
