DOOR ENGINEERING'S 4-FOLD DOORS

"Wonderful! That is the only way to describe the five, four-fold doors manufactured by Door Engineering in our new Fire Station 3," wrote Fire Chief Nyle Zikmund of Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department in his recent letter.

The long service life, low maintenance and high-speed operation offered by Door Engineering's F-Series four-fold door systems make them ideal for fire-station applications. The F-Series door panels fold completely clear of the opening in less than seven seconds and are visible by drivers during their entire operation. The F-Series operator and components are designed to perform more than 1 million cycles, with only standard preventive maintenance (applying grease to hinges and operators). The heavy-duty design of the four-fold door system enables it to function under high-cycle and other severe conditions.

Door Engineering's hurricane-rated, four-fold door system provides a one-door solution that offers protection without compromising on aesthetics. The FF700 door system is Florida Building Code tested and approved for 65 psf, including high-velocity hurricane zones and large missile-impact requirements.

"These doors have not only met, but have exceeded all of our expectations," Zikmund wrote. "[Door's] product, attention to quality and customer service is to be commended and we would like to thank you for a job well done."

MAGNEGRIP'S EXHAUST REMOVAL SYSTEM

MagneGrip offers the most advanced technology for eliminating hazardous exhaust emissions from firehouses. The systems help protect firefighters from breathing toxic soot and gases that are know to cause debilitating diseases, cancer and heart disease.

MagneGrip systems are 100% effective, easy to use and require less maintenance than other types of systems. Our patented nozzle releases from the apparatus automatically every time it exits the bay, so boarding and response times are never delayed. No compressors, air lines or electro-magnetic wiring are needed for operation. It's that simple.

With more systems to offer, MagneGrip can meet the needs for every firehouse application, including back-in or drive-through bays, stations with narrow spaces between vehicles, vertical stack attachment, and more. MagneGrip has thousands of systems installed in firehouses throughout the country and a nationwide team of service technicians to guarantee your satisfaction.

For the convenience of ceiling-mounted systems, MagneGrip Group also offers AirHAWK Air Purification Systems for bays, turnout rooms, offices, living quarters — anywhere you need protection from breathing indoor pollution.

UNIMAC'S PPE DRYING CABINET

UniMac's PPE Drying Cabinet builds on the company's commitment to firehouse laundries, offering a safe way to dry PPE and return it to service fast.

The cabinet utilizes a unique design to gently dry bunker gear. It forces heated air through hangers to dry bunker gear from the inside out. Air also is circulated through the cabinet's side panel, allowing it to move upward and around the outside of PPE. This unique, dual-side airflow delivers fast, efficient drying of both the inside and outside of gear. And because there is no tumble action, gear isn't subjected to excessive wear.

To increase the efficiency of the unit and help departments keep operating costs down, air is recirculated.

The dryer comes equipped with a user-friendly programmable control and operates with a simple push-button start. For greater ease of use, UniMac's PPE Drying Cabinet utilizes removable hangers, while optional racks increase its versatility and enable departments to dry boots as well as gloves.

When the PPE Drying Cabinet is combined with UniMac's UW model washer-extractor, departments have a total laundry solution and the flexibility to help them meet NFPA 1851 standards. Most important, however, is the peace of mind that comes from knowing that UniMac is effectively cleaning the gear and keeping firefighters safe.
