FIRE CHIEF recently announced the winners of its 11th annual Station Style Fire Station Design Awards, a program that recognizes outstanding architecture and design from fire departments nationwide. Gold, silver and bronze awards were announced in five categories: volunteer and combination departments, career departments, satellite stations, shared-facilities, and renovated fire stations. All participating entries will be published in the November print edition.

The winners were selected by four fire chiefs, one firefighter/architect and three architects. The winning entries are as follows:

Volunteer/Combination Fire Stations

• Gold: Southport (N.C.) Fire Headquarters, Garner & Brown Architects
• Silver: Canyon Lake (Texas) Fire/EMS No. 5, Brown Reynolds Watford Architects
• Bronze: Pleasant Valley Fire Department, Indian Land, S.C.; Stewart Cooper Newell Architects

Career Fire Stations

• Gold: Olympia (Wash.) Fire Station No. 4, Rice Fergus Miller
