W.V. Firefighters Review Rescue Skills

Marion County Fire Chief's Association held second annual fire rescue school for more than 100 firefighters in West Virginia. According to Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News, attendees were instructed in nine emergency courses and tested on their skills during the two-day school.

Classes covered confined space rescue, swift water management, rapid-intervention rescue, hazardous materials, vehicle and machinery technician, farm machinery rescue, emergency vehicle driving, advanced structural firefighting and truck company operations. The West Virginia Department of Highways donated three abandoned houses to the event for the rapid-intervention class.
