Aircraft Rescue Research Project Will Offer Training on Boeing 727s

Fire departments from nearly all of the 30 largest passenger airports and many  fire/rescue departments' air crash rescue and firefighting teams are preparing to participate in Aircraft Rescue Research Project, slated April 26-29 at San Bernardino (Calif.) Airport.

"Agencies throughout the U.S, many of the Canadian airports airport fire rescue authorities from around the world, including Singapore, Sweden, Denmark and New Zealand, as well as numerous fire departments from California will also be in attendance," according to an e-mail report from conference organizers Steven Cobb and Gunnar Kuepper of the ARRP.

Four Boeing 727 fuselages -- fully equipped with seats, insulation and windows -- will be used to demonstrate tools and equipment, and one will be dedicated to stabilization and lifting operations. Manufacturers of rescue tools, ARFF equipment and vehicles are invited to participate and showcase the capabilities of their products.

Discounts are available for registrations made before April 1. For more details, visit the ARRP Web site or contact Bryan Kinnear or Garrett Archer at 310-649-0700.
