Regarding "Lewd Behavior at the Station," published in Command Post on Feb. 18, 2005:
Thanks for speaking out about this issue. Some would say it’s about morality. For me that is true, but what about plain old professionalism? What about being the role models we should be to those we educate in schools and communities when we tell them to following proper fire safety. As a chaplain and pastor, I can’t tell people to do as I say not as I do. It won’t work. We can’t ask them to believe us in one area and show poor judgment in another. We have to set the standard and show the community that we are trustworthy. No we are not perfect, we don’t have to be puritans, but we must show a level of professionalism above that of immature individuals.
Thanks for speaking out.
