Kenwood USA unveiled its new 2W TK-2400/3400 4- or 16-channel and 5W 16-channel TK-2402/3402 VHF and UHF portable radios, which now have twice the audio output power and improved sound for use in high-noise environments, according to the company. The portables also have an optional GPS KMC-48GPS mic, so they can be integrated into a full fleet-management system. The new 5W radios employ a mechanical stopper to prevent blind channel selection. The radios feature a new snap-on audio jack cap, a programmable blue-colored LED for use as a critical indicator, and a slimmer profile compared to previous models.
The portables also have an improved spurious TX/RX response and built-in programmable scrambler, with the addition of custom signaling for increased versatility, according to Kenwood.
All TK-2400/3400 and TK-2402/3402 portables come with a full two-year warranty and are ready to use, with antenna, 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery, belt clip and fast charger. They feature wireless cloning and meet critical military standards for durability and IP54/55 standards for water and dust intrusion. All can be integrated with Fleetsync operation.
