Fire DepartmentDuring the seminars, presenter Steve Prziborowski will host "Survival Skills for the Newly Promoted Battalion Chief." Prziborowski — himself a battalion chief for the Santa Clara County (Calif.) Fire Department — has more than 19 years of fire-service experience and has been an adjunct faculty member at the Chabot College (Calif.) Fire Technology Program since 1993. He is past president of the Northern California Training Officers Association and was named the 2008 Ed Bent California Fire Instructor of the Year. Prziborowski also has authored numerous articles in leading fire-service publications and is a regular speaker at fire-service events across the country.

Prziborowski joined FIRE CHIEF Associate Editor Mary Rose Roberts to discuss his presentation, which includes numerous survival tips to meet a battalion chief's primary areas of responsibility: leadership, incident management, training and mentoring.
