On Jan. 12, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. More than 150,000 are confirmed dead, and that toll is expected to top 200,000.
An international response and recovery effort currently is underway to find people, save lives and help the nation rebuild from the natural disaster. That effort includes a number of U.S. firefighters.
U.S. Fire Administrator Kelvin Cochran took time away from his role in the National Response Recovery Center to discuss these efforts with FIRE CHIEF Associate Editor Mary Rose Roberts.
