The Pat Tillman Foundation has announced the opening of the application process for the fifth class of Tillman military scholars. The application process will remain open until 11:59:59 p.m. PST, Feb. 15, 2013.
Family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation following his death in 2004 while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan. The program supports educational opportunities for service members and their spouses by filling the financial gaps in the post-9/11 G.I. Bill. The scholarships cover direct study-related expenses, such as tuition and fees, as well as other needs including housing and child care. Since the foundation’s inception, more than $5 million in educational support has been invested in individuals committed to a life of service both in and out of uniform, including more than $3.2 million awarded to 230 Tillman military scholars nationwide.
