Ohio Union Votes 'No Confidence' in Fire Chief

Madison Township's, Ohio, firefighters union unanimously voted "no confidence" in Fire Chief Clifford Mason.

Madison Township's, Ohio, firefighters union unanimously voted "no confidence" in Fire Chief Clifford Mason, although township trustees gave him a positive performance review the same day. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2507 has filed 12 grievances during Mason's time as chief. The trustees told the paper that they would meet with the union to try to resolve problems.

In December 2008, former township administrator Judy Edwards acted on the grievances filed by the union, offering suggestions to Mason on ways to improve relations with his employees, which Mason claims he tried to follow but told the paper were based on unfounded allegations.
