IAWF Looks for New Board Members

The International Association of Wildland Fire will be accepting applications for its board of directors through Nov. 24. Successful candidates will begin their three-year terms on Jan. 1, 2010.

Individuals who meet the following criteria may self-nominate:

  • Must be an individual member of the association. Student and corporate members are not eligible.
  • Must have time available to full responsibilities of committees and conference.
  • Must be comfortable with e-mail and Microsoft Word. The board’s activities are conducted electronically.

An annual face-to-face board of directors meeting is very helpful, but not an absolute requirement.

The IAWF at this time is not able to pay travel expenses for board meetings. The annual meetings usually are held at one of the association's conferences and last one day.

Interested individuals can submit an application to the chair of the nominating committee. The board will hold elections for the expiring positions during the week of Dec. 18. For a copy of the application, e-mail President@iawfonline.org.
