Veteran Ohio Fire Chief Dies

Seventy-three-year-old Paul Swander died on Jan. 31, when he fell from a ladder in the firehouse. Swander, chief of the Ohio City (Ohio) Fire Department, had 55 years of service. He climbed the ladder to prepare the firehouses backup generator for an impending storm.
