Expert to Present Building Code Sprinkler Seminar

The American Fire Sprinkler Association will present "Building Code Sprinkler Trade-Offs" June 5, 2008 at noon Eastern time. This 90-minute virtual seminar will identify building code tradeoffs that can be used to offset sprinkler costs and add value to construction projects.

The seminar will be lead by industry expert Russ Mower, who has been involved in building and fire code development and administration for over 30 years. Mower was chief building official for Plano, Texas from 1998 to 2004 and he served as Plano's fire marshal from 1991 to 1998. He is a certified building official and has previously been certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a master fire inspector and master firefighter. Mower has a bachelor of engineering technology degree in fire science technology from Wichita State University.

The cost for this seminar is $90 per connection for AFSA members and $130 for non-members. The connection fee includes one telephone connection at one location, one master set of handouts (with permission to make additional copies for participants at your location), and an unlimited number of participants from an organization listening in one listening room. CEU/CPD credit is available; the processing fee is an additional $40 per person. Participants can earn 0.15 CEUs. and earn 1.5 CPDs if applicable.
