Deputy Fire Chief Wins Employee Award

Sand Springs (Okla.) Fire Department Deputy Chief Tom Jenkins was named the city's employee of the year. Jenkins has been on the department since 2004.

According to the Tulsa World, won the award in part for his efforts to help integrate police and fire communications with that of other city departments. He also oversaw renovations at the emergency communications center.

"Deputy Chief Jenkins brings his 'A' game to work every day," Chief Mark Joslin told the paper. "His enthusiasm for his job is contagious. He is well-liked and well-respected."
