Illinois Deputy Fire Chief Dies

Donald "Lee" Grubor, deputy fire chief for the Lewistown (Ill.) Fire Protection District died in the early hours of March 22. The 42-year-old volunteer had 21 years of service.

Grubor had responded to a structure fire late the previous night. He took ill after returning home and was transported to the hospital, where he died a short time later. The cause of death has not been determined. Grubor was the 32nd firefighter fatality reported this year.
