The Newport (Vt.) Fire Department recently took delivery of a 2011 custom pumper from Smeal Fire Apparatus. Built on a Spartan Metro Star Chassis, the unit is powered by a 350-hp Cummins ISC engine and Allison 3000EVS transmission. It is equipped with a 1,500-gpm Waterous pump, 1,000-gallon poly tank and 8-kW Onan generator.
