The Peachtree City (Ga.) Fire Department recently placed a 2011 Rosenbauer custom rescue pumper into service. Built on a Spartan Gladiator Evolution chassis, it’s powered by a 500hp Cummins ISX-15 engine and an Alison EVS-4000 transmission. The truck has a top-mount pump panel with rescue-style compartment configuration and an electric ladder rack.
The rig's 120/240v power is provided by a 10kw Smart Power hydraulic generator and includes a Hurst system with two reels/ tools out the rear compartment as well as one 200-foot electric cord reel. Unit is equipped with a Hale Q-Max pump rated at 1500gpm, with a Hale Foamlogix 3.3 inline foam system. The truck has a UPF 750-gallon booster tank with a 20-gallon Class A and 50-gallon Class B integrated foam cells. The pump panel has complete digital flow meter instrumentation in addition to standard analog gauges.
This engine matches three previous purchased Rosenbauer units in design, now providing PCFD the same designed engine running first out at all four stations. This brings the total to seven custom Rosenbauer units operated by PCFD, it also replaced the oldest Central States (Rosenbauer) in the fleet, a 2000 model that went into reserve.
