DRS Technologies’ ARMOR X10gx rugged tablet
The FDNY is deploying DRS Technologies’ ARMOR rugged mobile solutions to manage medical information at the scene. Systems include rugged tablet computers, accessories, installation services and communication equipment. Fire personnel will use the ARMOR X10gx rugged tablet and the Edge Velocity Datapath Optimizer EVDO router to create mobile Wi-Fi hot spots, so two-way data can be transmitted between hospitals and first responders on the scene as well as to manage electronic patient care reporting information.
The tablet is ruggedized to MIL-STD-810G for extremes in temperature, vibration, shock and drops and carries an IP-65 rating, as it is fully protected against dust and water. It features Gobi wireless broadband, Bluetooth wireless, integrated GPS, and 802.11 a/g/n WiFi. It also has a magnesium alloy chassis and a sunlight-readable touch-screen display. Other features include a docking system, an Intel Processor with up to 4GB RAM and a user-replaceable solid-state hard drive.
