The Houston Mayor's Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security Department created a six-minute public-safety announcement entitled, "Run, Hide, Fight, Surviving an Active Shooter Event." This common-sense approach provides guidelines on what civilian employees should do if an active shooter event occurs in the workplace or at a public building.
