Eight more associate editors have accepted the invitation of co-editors-in-chief Stefan Doerr of the University of Wales in Swansea and Sue Conard, recently retired national program leader of fire ecology research for the USDA Forest Service in Washington, D.C., to join the associate editorial panel of the IAWF's International Journal of Wildland Fire (IJWF). The IAWF extends a welcome to:

  • Matthew Dickinson of the U.S. Forest Service, based in Delaware;
  • William (Ruddy) Mell of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, based in Boulder, Colo.;
  • Cheikh Mbow of Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal;
  • David McGuire of the University of Alaska in Fairbanks;
  • Penny Morgan of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho;
  • Emily Heyerdahl of the Rocky Mountain Research Station in Missoula, Mont.;
  • Andrew Sullivan of CSIRO Sustainable Ecosystems in Canberra, Australia;
  • David Martell of the University of Toronto.

Four associate editors also came to the end of their terms. The IAWF is grateful for the support and service of Sylvie Gauthier of Natural Resources Canada, David Langor of the Canadian Forest Service, Jeremy Fried of the U.S. Forest Service and Francisco Lloret of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for their efforts over the past years.

Finally, Marion Askin is the new editorial assistant for IJWF, assuming Andrew Bullen's role. Bullen will focus on the production side of the publication.
