Apparatus manufacturer service seminars

Emergency One offers service seminars covering many of the components and systems found in their apparatus.Aerial 1, Oct. 16-20. Covers systems and controls for E-One aerial apparatus. Emphasis is on preventive maintenance. This seminar does not cover the Bronto.Aerial 2, Nov. 6-10. A continuation of Aerial 1. Emphasis is on troubleshooting and repair, using hands-on experience. Requires Aerial 1

Emergency One offers service seminars covering many of the components and systems found in their apparatus.

Aerial 1, Oct. 16-20. Covers systems and controls for E-One aerial apparatus. Emphasis is on preventive maintenance. This seminar does not cover the Bronto.

Aerial 2, Nov. 6-10. A continuation of Aerial 1. Emphasis is on troubleshooting and repair, using hands-on experience. Requires Aerial 1 or evt aerial certification. The Bronto is not covered in this seminar.

Bronto Aerial, Dec. 11-15. Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of E-One Bronto aerial devices, including hydraulic and electrical systems. Familiarization with the operational systems and interlocks used on some E-One apparatus.

Electrical 1, Oct. 30-Nov. 3. Basic electrical theory, print reading and proper use of diagnostic readers. Provides an overview of ac and dc electrical systems and components, load-management systems, harness identification and interface modules.

Electrical 2, Dec. 4-8. Advanced electrical theory and troubleshooting. Requires Electrical 1 or ase/evt electrical certification.

Students may also take the following evt classes with the Florida Fire College: F6 Allison Transmission, Nov. 1-3, and F-5 Aerial Apparatus, Dec. 11-15. evt certification testing is offered as part of these classes.

There is a registration fee for each seminar or class, and students are responsible for transportation, meals and lodging.

American LaFrance offers service training for fire departments operating current-generation apparatus.

Service and Maintenance, Nov. 6-10, Dec. 4-8. Familiarization with the components and systems of American LaFrance Eagle and Metropolitan models. Maintenance procedures for pumps, alternators, transmissions and electronics.

Aerial Devices, Nov. 13-17. Familiarization with components and systems of American LaFrance aerial devices. Covers operation, maintenance and adjustments, as well as inspection and service testing required by nfpa 1914.

There are no registration fees for these classes, but students are responsible for transportation, lodging and meals other than lunches.
