Nominations for Heart Safe Community/PAD Award Due Friday

Has your agency made strides in promoting Public Access Defibrillation in your community?

Now is the time to get in your nominations forms for the Heart Safe Community/PAD Award sponsored by the International Association of Fire Chiefs' EMS Section and Medtronic Physio-Control Corp.

The award is presented annually to a Fire Service EMS agency (or agencies) that has played a key role in creating and/or promoting PAD in their community. It will be presented at the EMS Section's annual conference, Fire-Rescue Med, April 26-28 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Criteria for the award include:

  • The creation of a PAD program in your community and/or surrounding communities;

  • Creative approaches to overcoming obstacles for implementing PAD programs;

  • Increased awareness for the need for PAD through education and/or training efforts;

  • Ongoing support for community PAD programs.
