Fireman's Fund has announced the upcoming release of a new documentary film featuring authentic fire service stories from around the country — all told by the firefighters who actually lived them.
Directed by Bill Couturie and produced by Fireman's Fund, Into the Fire is a powerful and moving portrait of the modern fire service. The film will air Oct. 13 nationally on The History Channel and again on Oct. 22 before its release on DVD next year.
Into the Fire is an outgrowth of the Fireman's Fund Heritage program goal to raise awareness among the public of the challenges the fire service faces every day.
"Fireman's Fund has a unique heritage based on our social mission to help the fire service," said Danielle Cagan, community relations director for Fireman's Fund. "This documentary supports that heritage by raising awareness of the critical needs of fire departments across the country."
Working in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Fireman's Fund will direct its profits from the film to purchase needed equipment for fire departments around the country. Special fund-raising events are also planned.
Firefighters can catch a special sneak-preview screening at Fire-Rescue International in Dallas in September. To learn more about the movie, visit Into the Fire.
