Deerfield Beach Appoints New Chief

Anthony “Tony” Stravino has been appointed fire chief for the City of Deerfield Beach, Fla. He replaces retiring Chief Gary Lother.

Over the course of his career, Stravino has held the positions of paramedic supervisor, fire lieutenant, division chief and deputy fire chief. He also proudly claims an association with the informal group of chiefs known as "the Baggers."

Stavino holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is a 27-year-certified paramedic. As chief, he will be responsible for managing fire, EMS and emergency management functions for the south Florida city of 85,000.
