Pa. Appoints Training Officer

Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News reports that John Fowler, a 23-year veteran of the department, has been appointed training officer for the Mahanoy City (Pa.) Fire Department. Mahanoy Chief Randy Kalce told the paper that Fowler's goals will be to grow the department on the foundation built by prior training officers. Fowler has been certified on local, state and national levels, including Firefighter 1 and 2, Fire Instructor 1 and 2, hazmat incident commander and safety officer, and educational methodology.
