Lee Tapped as Interim D.C. Chief

Twenty-year Washington, D.C. Fire and EMS veteran Brian Lee has been appointed interim chief of the department by Mayor Adrian Fenty.

Lee, a battalion chief in the department’s special operations division prior to being named interim chief, said responsiveness to the community’s needs would be his first priority. He succeeds Chief Adrian H. Thompson who recently retired.

Lee remains a candidate for the permanent fire chief position.
