Cheyenne Department Veteran Named Chief

Twenty-nine years ago at the age of 19, Guy Cameron signed on with the Cheyenne (Wyo.) Fire Department as a dispatcher. For the next three decades he worked his way through the ranks, and has now been named chief of the department, today called Cheyenne Fire and Rescue.

Cameron succeeds interim chief Jeff Fox, who had served in that role since May after Chief Scott Alvord resigned to take a position with another department.

The new chief pledges quality public service to Cheyenne residents and a professional response to each call. Speaking to the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle newspaper, Cameron said, "I want to take care of all the firefighters and our citizens."
