UL Hosts Smoke Alarm Webinar

Underwriters Laboratories is offering a bi-weekly Webinar series for fire safety professionals that will provide information related to smoke alarms and an open forum for the fire safety community for questions and discussion.

UL’s Science of Safety webinar series will update fire safety professionals on:

  • The recent Smoke Characterization Study;
  • The differences between ionization, photoelectric and dual technologies;
  • Current smoke alarm requirements; and
  • Potential revisions being discussed to make smoke alarms even more effective considering changes in the modern home environment.
The first session, "Smoke Alarms: Advancement in Research and Requirements," will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. CST. It will include a 30- to 40-minute presentation along with the opportunity to ask experts from UL questions on smoke alarms and advances being made to keep us all safer from fire.
