Texas Chief Dies

Robert Leland Knight, chief of the Teague (Texas) Volunteer Fire Department, was killed July 5, while battling a fire at an upholstery and auto body shop. Knight was advancing a hoseline when a brick wall collapsed and trapped him. He was extricated, but did not survive his injuries.

Knight was 42 years old and had 18 years of service. Knight was the 58th firefighter to die in the line of duty this year.
