Stihl honors forestry hero

Stihl Inc. is accepting nominations for the company's 2004 National Forestry Heroism Award. Each year, the award recognizes one person in the forestry industry who has shown exceptional courage to protect the lives and property of others and our natural resources.

Nominations are open to firefighters, loggers, forest and park rangers, and others involved in the care of the nation's forests. A panel of independent judges selects the winner based on such criteria as the impact of the candidate's action for the good of society, the impact of the candidate's action for the good of the forestry industry and the memorability of the candidate's action.

Stihl will present the winner with a plaque and monetary award and will make a donation to a forestry school in the winner's state.

Applications are available at www.stihlusa.com, by calling 800-GO-STIHL, or on the following page. The deadline for entries is Feb. 15, 2004.
