The International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation has launched a new scholarship fund for first responders: the Motorola Foundation Future Leaders Scholarship Fund. Motorola donated $50,000 to the effort.

The scholarship fund will benefit company officers pursuing college-level or above course work in fire service — related fields and who are currently enrolled in or recently participated in IAFC's Company Officer Leadership Development Program.

The deadline to apply for a 2009 scholarship is June 1.
