Stemco Offers Advice on Wet Wheel Ends

Vehicles that have operated with the wheel ends submerged in water — whether it's the result of hurricane storm surges, floods, or simply repeated fording of rivers and streams — need some maintenance to avoid poor performance and wheel end failures.

Stemco defines the required procedures for inspection, rebuild and reassembly of affected wheel ends in their Tech Tip #30, which can be found on the company’s Web site.
