Summit Fire Apparatus Turns 50

Summit Fire Apparatus celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2007. The company built its first apparatus — a tanker for the Walton (Ky.) Fire Department — in 1957.

Summit is now located in a modern plant in Edgewood, Ky., just outside of Cincinnati. It builds a full line of pumpers, tankers, rescues and other apparatus on both custom and commercial chassis.
