Spartan Earns ULC Certification for Fire Truck Chassis

After successfully completing an extensive review and certification process, Spartan Chassis now meets Underwriters Laboratories Canada compliance for all of its fire truck chassis delivered in Canada.

To meet ULC compliance, fire truck suppliers must pass third-party testing and certification for components such as engines, brakes, vehicle weight and balance, pumps and aerial devices. Spartan Chassis can now supply fire truck chassis with ULC certification to fire departments in every Canadian province.

"We anticipate most Canadian departments will begin adopting these standards in the near future and we want to ensure we can deliver chassis with ULC certification to our customers in a seamless fashion," said Richard Schalter, president of Spartan Chassis. "Certification by Underwriters Laboratories Canada is also an endorsement to our customers that they are getting the best in performance and quality."

ULC's recently introduced CAN/ULC-S515-04 Automobile Fire Fighting Apparatus Standards apply to all fire trucks used for structural fire fighting in Canada, including pumpers, ladder trucks, water tank trucks and aerial apparatus.
