Pierce Debuts 100-foot Aluminum Aerial Ladder

Pierce Manufacturing Inc. expanded its aerial product line with the recent introduction of a 100-foot heavy-duty aluminum aerial ladder. The four-section ladder has a dry tip-load rating of 750 pounds, plus an additional 100 pounds of capacity at the tip for equipment.

The new aluminum ladder is also rated at 500 pounds while flowing up to 1,500gpm of water from the elevated monitor. It uses 6061-T6 aluminum extrusions for superior strength and is designed with a structural safety factor of 2½ to 1.

The ladder features Pierce’s H-style stabilizers that can be set into place quickly with a 12-foot spread and just a 10-foot spread when short-jacked. It's able to operate in a 35mph wind with ¼ inch of ice buildup. In addition, the ladder is available with a replaceable egress. If it’s ever damaged, departments can replace it with a new one instead of replacing the entire fly section of the ladder. A large selection of tip accessories are available for the new 100-foot aluminum ladder, including a quick-lock waterway, “creeper” controls, breathing air at tip, 110-volt/220-volt power to tip, lighting options, locator beacons, waterway preconnect at tip and various equipment mountings.
