National EVT Fall Symposium Draws Good Turnout

The National EVT Fall Symposium, held in Daytona Beach during the week of October 23, drew over 50 technicians for the EVTCC review classes.

The symposium offered classes for students who wished to review materials for many of the EVTCC fire and ambulance track certification exams. Sixty-five technicians took the exams on the last day, and several took more than one exam.

The event was organized by the Florida Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians, which also organizes the popular National EVT Training Academy in the spring. Instructors for the fall symposium included Rob Burley, Fire-Tech Services; Wayne Fister, CONAM Inspections; Dennis Litchenstine; Steve Dean, American LaFrance; Tim Rollins, Florida Detroit Diesel/Allison Transmission; and Bob Ivey, American LaFrance/MedicMaster. Additional support came from American LaFrance’s Bob Meyer, who supervised the EVTCC exam process, and Osman Rahaman, director of EVT programs for FAEVT, who coordinated the instructors and classes.

The next National EVT Training Academy is scheduled for May 14-18 in Daytona Beach. For information, go to www.faevt.org.
