Alexis Founder Dies

Gene Morris, founder of Alexis Fire Equipment Co. in Alexis, Ill., died March 18 at the age of 90.

Morris founded Alexis Fire Equipment in 1947. The initial facility employed four men and could accommodate only three to four units at a time. The company believed in dedication, hard work and the concept of providing a superior fire truck to customers. These core values are still at the heart of Alexis Fire Equipment today and with Gene’s son and owner/president of the company, Jeff Morris.

Gene Morris is survived by two sons and a daughter, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
