KME Extends L.A. County Consortium Offer

KME Extends L.A. County Consortium Offer

KME is well into the delivery phase of a large apparatus order for Los Angeles County Fire Department. Several dozen add-on orders have already been received from other departments, and more are expected as the consortium purchase opportunity has been extended until September 2007.

Los Angeles County placed orders for more than 100 units, including engines, CAFS engines and tractor-drawn aerials. Many of the apparatus are now in service throughout the region. According to KME, initial feedback from stations is very positive, and fire departments nationwide are joining in the consortium purchase program. Departments in California, Oregon, New York, Georgia and Pennsylvania have either expressed strong interest or purchased through the add-on process to this contract.
