The National EVT Training Academy, sponsored by the Florida Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians, plans to feature Dave McBride of Speed Television's “2 Guys Garage” as the banquet speaker.

The EVT Academy is scheduled for May 14-18 at the Advanced Technology Center in Daytona Beach. The banquet will be held at the Daytona 500 Club and Lounge, and dinner is part of the academy registration fee.

Other events include a barbecue, vendor show and an evening maintenance roundtable session in which technicians have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues with several people in the industry.

The academy offers more than 30 classes on maintenance subjects, including several review sessions specifically designed to help technicians prepare for various EVTCC exams. Based on the performance of students in the past, these classes are an excellent way to review and share the knowledge and skills required for successful completion of the exams.
