Castrol Oil Now Exceeds 2007 Requirements

BP Lubricants USA announced that its Castrol Tection Extra motor oil exceeds the tough new requirements for 2007 diesel engines.

The new oil formulation exceeds the API CJ-4 specs for 2007 EPA-certified engines, including the Cummins ISM specification for soot-related wear. It is backward-compatible, which means it can be used on pre-2007 engines as well.

All 2007 diesel truck engines have new requirements for motor oil to provide adequate lubrication and soot dispersion with the new exhaust emission control systems. Some specific engines have additional requirements as specified by the manufacturer.
