Volunteer Fire Department Gets State Rebate for Worker’s Comp

The West Virginia State Auditors Office lifted the financial burden of a worker’s compensation bill for the Pipestem Volunteer Fire Department.

From the State Journal: The West Virginia State Auditors Office lifted the financial burden of a worker’s compensation bill for the Pipestem Volunteer Fire Department.

The department was awarded $3,599 from the state to offset the costs in worker’s compensation premiums.

West Virginia Volunteer Fire Departments had their worker’s compensation insurance change on July 1.

West Virginia State Auditor Glen Gainer said the rebate is a fix for now, but a more permanent solution needs to be addressed. Read the entire article here.
