Former Denver Chief to Head State Homeland Security

Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter has named former Denver Fire Department Chief Larry Trujillo as the new state’s new director of homeland security. He will replace Mason Whitney.

From the Washington Examiner: Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter has named former Denver Fire Department Chief Larry Trujillo as the new state’s new director of homeland security. He will replace Mason Whitney.

Whitney led Colorado's homeland security initiatives since August 2007, first as a coordinator and then as the first director of the new Office of Homeland Security in April 2008.

Trujillo served as Denver fire chief from 2003 until retiring in 2007.
